How to Have a Carefree Vacation: Avoid Timeshares
Avoid Timeshares: A holiday is meant to be relaxing and having fun, whether you enjoy the beach, the sea, or the sun. However, there are some things to watch out for during your stay, especially in popular destinations like Gran Canaria. One of these is timeshare or, as they call it today, “Share Ownership”.

For example, if you walk along the beach in Playa del Inglés, you are likely to be approached by employees of Timeshare companies. These people often make fantastic promises, such as great prizes that you can win by simply accepting a scratch card. It seems that you always win the main prize, which sounds great at first.
You are then asked to pick up your prize, with a taxi paid for by them. However, once you get there, there is no prize. Instead, you are offered a contract for a luxury holiday of your choice, worldwide. At this point, it is up to you whether you sign the contract or not. Although Timeshare is legal, it can cost you a lot of money. Often you only rent part of an apartment complex at a very high price.
If you are considering taking part in Timeshare, be aware that there can be many hidden pitfalls. Terminating a Timeshare contract can be very difficult. In the Canary Islands, including Gran Canaria, there are Timeshare complexes that were never completed or opened. One of the few exceptions is the luxurious Anfi del Mar in Arguineguin.

- Late July to early September: The British spread their summer holidays over this period, so Gran Canaria can be busy even then.
In addition, the Canary Islands, including Gran Canaria, also attract many tourists during the winter months due to the mild climate. The island is a popular destination all year round. Important Tip: Do Not Drink Tap Water in Gran Canaria
When you go on holiday to Gran Canaria or one of the other Canary Islands, it is important to know that the tap water is not drinkable. This applies to all accommodations, including hotels, apartments and bungalows. Drinking tap water can lead to intestinal complaints and other health problems.
To avoid any problems, buy bottled water from a shop near your hotel or apartment as soon as you arrive. Bottled water is affordable and comes in large plastic bottles, so you will always have clean, safe drinking water at hand.

Sunset on the Beach at Maspalomas
An evening walk along the promenade at sunset is a must. A recommended walk with sea views is from the Maspalomas lighthouse to Meloneras beach. There you can enjoy a beautiful evening over a nice fresh pint. An alternative is a walk from Playa del Ingles to San Agustin. this too is recommended due to its quiet nature. Aloe Vera for your Daily Health
Aloe Vera ( Aloe Vera ) can be bought all over the Canary Islands. Aloe vera is a cactus plant and thus a natural product grown on almost all the islands. This exotic plant has already proven its properties both in health and beauty industry for beauty treatments, skin care, skin diseases, body care, rashes and dry skin, etc.
Many a beautician uses it in her beauty salon, or wellness centres. The product is offered in drink, gel, cream, toilet paper and sunscreen products. The plant juice is most suitable for wounds and as a sunscreen for sunburns such as aftersun. Look out for the percentage of Aloe Vera in the product.

In the pharmacy and in some perfumeries you can find 100% Aloe Vera which is of course the purest form and the most effective. You can also easily grow the plant at home. A sunny and warm place like a veranda is certainly recommended on cold days.
During warm summer days, Aloe Vera can definitely be outside in the garden. The product in the green leaf can be used pure. For this, you only need to remove a leaf and cut it open. The gel can easily be applied to a wound or sunburn.
