Anexo I and II on the Beach Boulevard and Plaza
You will find it in almost every seaside resort: beach shops, bars and restaurants. Anexo I is a Shopping Center close to the beach of Playa del Ingles. It mainly consists of souvenir shops, but you will also find beachwear and beach items such as umbrellas and sunbeds. You can even have your hair cared for or enjoy a relaxing body massage, pedicure, and much more pampering. It’s a holiday, and enjoyment is part of it!
Some shops offer to print your name or an image on a cap or t-shirt for a cheap price. Tattoo enthusiasts will certainly find something to their liking in the professional tattoo shop. Anexo I is partly covered, so you can shop in the shade. On top of the shopping center you can enjoy the open-air swimming pool. Visit Anexo I and discover all these great possibilities!
Anexo II a pleasant bustle on the Paseo Maritimo
When you cross the Plaza you automatically end up in Anexo II. From here you continue walking along the Paseo Maritimo, which means “Coastal Walkway“. There is always a bustle of people here looking for suntan lotion, parasols, a cap or a souvenir as a gift for those at home.
It may be personal, but I had a photo of our deceased dog engraved from the smartphone on a metal piece of jewelry, something that I have not found anywhere else to date. You can find this stand just across the Spar supermarket on the same Paseo Maritimo.
There are also several businesses that are happy to promise you better health. A neck or back massage with aloe vera works wonders, and that is true.
For the kids or the big kids, you can eat delicious ice cream on the Paseo Maritimo, which is of course always welcome in the warm weather, but you will also certainly enjoy the beloved hamburgers from McDonalds.
Not only the children have to eat, there are more than enough restaurants such as Wok restaurants, Chinese buffet a Volonté, but traditional Canarian and Western cuisine is also well represented. All the shopping makes you thirsty, so you can enjoy a fresh pint of beer or a cocktail such as a Mojito in the many Scandinavian, Dutch and especially German bars, most with live music.
I can imagine that you would prefer a nice piece of cake with a Latte Macchiato or a Cappuccino between shopping, that is not a problem because almost all bars and cafes offer desserts.
‘Frühshoppen’ on the beach of Playa del Ingles
At the end of Paseo Maritimo you pass Café Mozart. “Frühshoppen” is regularly organized here for tourists on Sunday mornings. From early in the morning there will be demonstrations with Aloe Vera products and a fashion show with the latest beach fashion, presented by a local fashion shop. The event will be enhanced with a two-hour music show, in which both German hits and international hits will be sung live. Don’t forget to dance! In short, this is highly recommended for a pleasant Sunday morning.
Anexo I and Anexo II is also the place to enjoy a terrace and fun music in the evening. Of course, this is not part of shopping, so you can find more information on this on the page “Getting out in Playa del Ingles“.
How to reach ?
Anexo I and Anexo II are easily accessible by car. Directly next to the shopping area there is a spacious paid parking lot, part of which is covered to keep your car in the shade.
Unfortunately, there is no public transport available. Hotel guests can use the beach bus. An alternative is to take a relaxing walk to the beach or use a taxi. The taxi stand is located directly on Paseo Maritimo.
Update on Anexo II: There is currently a debate going on about the future of Anexo II on the beach of Playa del Inglés in Gran Canaria. The Cabildo de Gran Canaria is calling for demolition because of the nearby protected nature reserve, while the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana continues to focus on renovation. The final decision depends on further reports and decisions from local authorities. (November 25, 2023)
